Ride the Cyclone makes waves in 2011!
4 years ago writer Jacob Richmond and composer Brooke Maxwell set out to do something they had never done before: Write a musical! Today, Ride the Cyclone has just completed it’s first Canadian National Tour, setting the Canadian Theatre World (and beyond) abuzz!
First of all I would just like to take this opportunity to say how honored I am to be working with such a dedicated, passionate...

A New Years Parable of sorts
This is my house plant, Lucky. He comes by this name honestly. What you must know of Lucky is that he’s always boasted a luscious mane, a full, green coat.
Last winter, when I moved from my first Toronto abode onto the next, he died. Flat out. He was rotting from the inside so we had to trim him back to nothing. Bare Bones, but even the bones had been pulled back leaving nothing but dirt....

There is a vitality, a life-force, and energy, a quickening that is translated...
– Martha Graham (May 11, 1894 – April 1, 1991) was an American modern dancer and choreographer whose influence on dance has been compared with the influence Picasso had on modern visual arts, Stravinsky had on music, or Frank Lloyd Wright had on architecture.

The Vancouver Sun reviews Ride the Cyclone
Now I don’t usually copy/paste material from other sites….but this time I had to make an exception! Peter Birnie from the Vancouver Sun came to our opening of Ride the Cyclone by Atomic Vaudeville at the Vancouver Arts Club Review Stage and this is what he had to say. Needless to say, I am extremely proud of piece and of each and every company member for their hard work and...

A Little Bit of Inspiration
I have come to realize, over and over again, that I come from the most beautiful place on earth: British Columbia (but more specifically Vancouver Island). Now this may be a gross exaggeration however, coming from someone who now resides in downtown Toronto, I maintain that Vancouver Island is in fact a wonder to behold, a virgin paradise.
Today, my partner of 3 and a half years and I drove up...

Social media and its impact on the Arts
Brent Smith, member of the arts community in Toronto.
I recently met Brent Smith of www.stagestrailers.ca and @stagetrailers on twitter through my involvement with the Summerworks Theatre Festival. My first interactions with Brent were in fact on twitter. I can’t remember if he found me or I found him…lets just say we found each other. I found out that Brent was an avid supporter of...

At the moment, I am working on a fun project entitled the The Kitchen Party Nervous Breakdown Reality TV Show Hosted by Sky Gilbert!

What's with that guy?
A couple weeks ago I performed at a Carnegie Hall Show fundraiser show for the National Theatre of the World. They we’re raising funds for the Script Tease Project @ Theatre Passe Muraille which runs May 24th to 29th. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Bread and Circus so packed with people. There were door prizes, there were raffles, silent auction items, baked goods, booze and...

SNAFU Dance Theatre to perform at Summerworks
It seems like it was only yesterday that I was watching the sun set on a beautiful waterfront manor in Victoria, painting every inch of my body chalk white along with ten beautiful women and one other other brave man. Together, we would put on a piece of renegade outdoor dance theatre that would take the Victoria International Fringe Festival by storm, winning both Most Innovative Production and...
